Scholarship Fund

We at KSR strive to provide affordable accommodation to students making their way to Melbourne from regional and rural parts of Australia, especially for those in need of financial assistance.

The KSR Accommodation Scholarship Fund has been established with the Australian Communities Foundation, which acts as the trustee for the fund. The KSR Accommodation Scholarship is used to provide fee relief for those in financial need.

Eligibility for a KSR scholarship

As a minimum, in order to be eligible to receive assistance from the KSR Scholarship Fund, an applicant must:

  • be enrolled in an accredited course of study at an Australian university or higher education provider

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia

    be able to show financial hardship

Our Scholarship Fund Applications open in late November (for the following year) for successful applicants who have received a letter of offer to live at Kew Student Residence.

Our scholarship fund operates from donations. We encourage all Friends of KSR to consider making a contribution to the fund through a once-off donation, regular giving or by leaving a bequest. Donations are tax-deductible. Our vision is that the fund will one day provide enough fee relief to ensure that financial reasons will never prevent someone from living at the Res in order to undertake tertiary study. Anything given is much appreciated as we seek to make tertiary education in Melbourne available to all.
